Celebrated vacation yesterday by walking the pooch in the river valley. It was snowing gently, and only a little bit cold (I couldn't feel my legs by the end of the 3k walk). Ginger had a blast!
The first two ballet classes have been fun so far. I'm still super awkward, but can't possibly be getting worse :D
I got ambitious and went to the Saturday stretch and strength for dancers class. They said it was drop in for all levels, but when I got there it said it was intermediate/advanced... Uh oh. I did it anyways, and it wasn't too bad, lots of stretching and ab workout activities, so I hurt all over today. I did a quick run and some crunches today to keep me moving, it will all get better in a few weeks, after a bit of pain and torture . I've been being lazy exercise wise for the past few months, and a lifestyle of cookies & quilting doesn't lead to a stable weight (sadly).
I decided last week to stop being a bum, and get back at running, but I needed something to make it slightly less monotonous for the training period, and I'm crap at keeping up with stretching. I am graceful like a hippo, and wish I was more graceful. So obviously an adult ballet class is the answer, right!? I found one that is evenings, and drop in, so you don't have a 6 month commitment - very nice! So far I've done three runs and I did my first ballet class last week, and have second coming up this evening! Here's to being more healthy :D |
