Tiling continued merrily until we ran out of mortar; and we're waiting for the specialty bull nose tile for the window surround. Only supremely irritating cuts left to go - angles all over the place thanks to the oddity of basement bathrooms :)
It is looking pretty nice so far! Fairly proud of the progress over the last few days. Planning to go with a glass door - currently the leader is the Aston Nautis door - it has shelves that are part of the structural support which makes me giggle and solves a shelving lack :) I'm making progress on a bunch of small things! Block of the month, September and October :) A small lap quilt using some cute fabrics! And making some plans to tile the shower!
Though it snowed this week, it also got slightly warmer and was hike worthy, so we headed to Elk Island National Park.
We always forget to go in summer, but the hiking was nice, and scenic. We saw a partridge, squirrels, beavers, muskrats, and a bunch of bison! The dogs had a blast too :) I've had a quilt top sitting since last year, waiting to be made into a duvet cover... and now it is almost Duvet time again (it snowed the last two days as I write this).
I quilted the top with flannel on the back to hold the duvet in place better (or so I hope), then I sewed the wide backing on pillow wise with two zippers in it to make it easy to insert the duvet. Still not sure if I want to add corner ties or not - that can wait until I see if the duvet stays in place. |
