Well, about a year ago, I signed up for the Moccasin BOM through Gen X Quilters.
I had fun figuring out how to use the colour palette from one of my fat quarter sets; I think it was Block Party by Sandy Gervais (Moda). It made for a very bright, happy set of blocks! I was concerned at the start that it would be too bright, and overwhelming, but I had selected a grey background and it settled the colours down quite nicely. The album (individual blocks to finished product) is available here Our company is holding an office decorating competition, so we started decorating the space today and it is super cute/tacky beyond belief. I am working to convince the group that we should print out a picture of a fire place to hang little stockings at the end of one of the desks.
In light of that idea, I had cut parts from the mystery quilt finish, so I turned those into little stocking decoration with co-worker names on them :D The pattern such as it is is from Trillium Design. They are just out of the dryer and a little bit wrinkly; I'll iron them before taking them in for decorating. |
